Often Adware programs do not have a removal procedure and can use technologies similar to those that use viruses to infiltrate a computer and run unnoticed. However, since Adware programs may be legally present on your computer, antivirus solutions cannot always determine the degree of danger of a particular Adware program. Kaspersky Lab products allow you to choose whether to detect Adware programs or not and how to respond to them.
Removing Adware Programs
There are many reasons to suspect that an Adware program detected by an antivirus is a threat. For example, if you did not consent to the installation of the program and do not know about its origin, or you read the description of this program on the Kaspersky Lab website and you have doubts that it is not dangerous. In such cases, Kaspersky Lab’s antivirus software will help get rid of such an Adware program.
Refusal to detect Adware programs
If an Adware program is detected by an antivirus, but you are sure that it is an authorized program, you can decide that this program will not harm your devices or data. Kaspersky Lab products allow you to disable the detection of such programs. In addition, specific programs can be added to the exclusion list so that the antivirus engine does not mark them as malicious.
Many free or shareware programs stop displaying ads after they are registered or purchased. However, some programs use third-party Adware utilities. Sometimes such utilities remain installed on the user’s computer even after registration or purchase of the program. In some cases, the removal of the Adware component may lead to a malfunction of the program.
